Maddie Martin

Hello! I’m Maddie Martin! I have always had a deep love for the arts. I have been creating drawings for as long as I can remember. From the arts and crafts box my family had to the artist’s kits, drawing was and is an ingrained part of my life. Which was once a hobby, has now blossomed into a full-time career.

    Illustration is what I love and I enjoy many parts of the narrative visual arts experience. Although illustration is my main focus, I also pursue character design, concept drawing, creating fine art paintings, and writing stories for children. I like the fact that I can synthesize all my passions for one piece. All the pursuits of mine are interlinked and I find it amazing!

    I prefer using a diverse array of mediums for my art, including digital, watercolor, oils, and gouache. I even like to combine traditional and digital mediums to make a unique piece. In a rapidly-changing art world, I believe it is important to be versatile with materials, but also to have fun with it.

    My personal philosophy is to “write what you know”. My personal experiences are the main guiding forces through all of my artworks. It is what makes my work truly unique as only I had done that thing. And as someone who had been through rejection in my life, I also have developed resilience and the ability to work under pressure. My hardworking and friendly personality has allowed me to thrive in the arts!
